This is a British 4.5 inch howitzer shell case in very nice condition it still retains its shiny brass colour but it has a bit of discolour in places but nothing to bad. The case still has all of its original markings on the bottom fairly clear to see including the date 1916 over all a very nice condition and a good example .The case come from a private collection and was found on the Somme battlefield of 1916-1918. in France. A very relic from the famous western front battlefield.
