British Lee-Enfield No9 knife bayonet and scabbard, 1950 dated
Description

This is the No.9, last of the line for the socket bayonet fitted to the Lee-Enfield no.4 rifle. The simple No.4 spike transformed into the elaborate no.7 knife bayonet with rotating handle, and then finished as a cross between the two, a knife bayonet without handle which served only one purpose. Modern bayonets have now returned to the dual purpose role of a useful knife as well as an extension to your rifle when you run out of ammo. In very good condition throughout with good point and edge, this example is Enfield made and marked and '50 dated on the side, with broad arrows and bend test stamp.  Very good scabbard, with correct steel throat.
