Description

Replica of Red Army budenovka winter felt hat with folding flaps worn by the military during the Civil War in Russia. Named after Semyon Budyonny, a Soviet cavalryman and military commander (pictured). Originally created in 1918 by a commission comprising artists, including Viktor Vasnetsov. His most famous painting Bogatyrs depicts Russian knights wearing cone-shaped helmets, prototypes of budenovka. Imported from Moscow.
