This is an original first edition The WRNS: A history of the Women's Royal Naval Service. This example looks to have been sol back in 1993 as it has the previous owners name written on the front cover as well as a small bible passage and the year 1993 written on it. The book is in good condition all round with minor wear as shown. We also discovered a small news paper cutting about the WRENS stuffed into the book also dated to 1993. It has 160 pages. Compiled by an ex-director, this is a history of the Women's Royal Naval Service. Using both unpublished archival material and the personal experiences of Wrens, it charts the history of the Wrens during various periods of their existence, which include World War I and II, the post-war period to 1949, and the present day. Extensive appendices are included that give a list of names from the WRNS Book of Remembrance and a catalogue of worldwide establishments where the Wrens have served.
